Easy and simple: with a magnet.
What is stainless steel?
Stainless steel is an alloy of iron and chromium to which, in some cases, nickel and other metals are added. Corrosion-resistant, stainless steel is a “green material” par excellence, and can be recycled endlessly.

What is the difference between “stainless steel cover” and stainless steel?
Stainless steel contains chromium, which, when in contact with oxygen, forms a passive layer that protects the steel against corrosion and rust. Ordinary steel or carbon steel coated in “Inox Color” is made up of iron and carbon in its composition and, unlike stainless steel, is not resistant to heat and corrosion.
How to identify stainless steel from coated common steel?
To identify stainless steel from non-stainless steel, the easiest way is to use a magnet. If this material is not attracted by the magnet, the alloy must be stainless steel. If the magnet is attracted to the metal, it is likely that it is not stainless steel, with the rare exception of special stainless steel.
